Two Sundays evenings each month, we show the best of Chinese films with English
subtitles on a large screen of an intimate theater in Beijing.
We show only mainland Chinese films produced since the 1990's
Some films are set in modern-day China, others evoke the recent or ancient past.
Together, they provide insights into the complexity and beauty of Chinese civilization
and open doors of understanding for those of us who are still struggling to learn the
language and customs of our Chinese friends and colleagues. We occasionally invite
the director, actors, producer, and other members of the cast to appear on-stage for
a dialogue with the audience after the show.
This is a non-profit service to the foreign community. We hope that this
small effort will contribute to a better understanding between our cultures.
